Our environmental commitment is important to existing buildings that require upgrades to meet or exceed energy standards. AAFC Cereal Research Centre Laboratory
Market: GovernmentOn behalf of Public Works and Government Services Canada (PWGSC) in the spring of 2008, Williams conducted a conceptual options heating study for the Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada (AAFC) Cereal Research Centre’s Science Laboratory building, located on the University of Manitoba campus in Winnipeg.
Aspen Heights School Renovation
Market: EducationAspen Heights Elementary School located in Red Deer, Alberta was originally constructed in 1949. The school's current population stands at approximately 225 students. Major renovations to the school and a four classroom addition began in June of 2009.
Capital Health Deconstructive Services for Outpatient Resident Buildings
Market: HealthcareCapital Health, serving over one million Edmonton and area patients, provides various high technology services including organ transplants, inpatient acute care, rehabilitation care, extended care, and immunizations. Capital Health required the expertise of an engineering firm to guide the deconstruction of the existing Outpatient Resident Building located at 8315 – 114 Street in Edmonton Alberta.
Con Mine Site
Market: Renewable EnergyWilliams was part of the team of experts hired by the City of Yellowknife to conduct a feasibility study for the use of warm groundwater for building heating. The groundwater is in the process of filling up the soon to be decommissioned Con Mine, one of the gold mines that put Yellowknife on the map.
County of Paintearth Municipal Office Building & Industrial Subdivision
Market: CommercialAs part of Williams Engineering Canada Inc.'s existing relationship with the communities of the Paintearth region, our firm was asked to provide conceptual planning, design, and engineering services for the new County of Paintearth municipal office and planned light industrial/highway commercial sub-division. Williams Engineering produced the conceptual plan for the phased development of the site which at build-out will be home to the municipal office, a truck stop serving the high-load Highway 36 corridor, and 15 Light Industrial/Highway Commercial lots.
Diavik Mine-Dry 112 Man Camp
Market: ManufacturingIn this two phase project, Williams continued to assist Diavik Diamond Mines Inc. to develop its operation in the high arctic at Lac De Gras, Northwest Territories.
Edmonton Islamic Academy
Market: EducationThe Islamic Academy of Edmonton is a triumph of collaboration that provides traditional education with modern sensibility for more than 1,000 students from kindergarten to grade twelve. Williams and Barr Ryder Architects and Interior Designers worked together as prime consultants to design and build an institution that is functional, beautiful, and representative of Canada’s multi-cultural spirit.
Greenstone Building
Market: GovernmentTo enhance the federal government’s presence in the City of Yellowknife, a plan for a Government of Canada Building was put into place in 2002.
Hecla Oasis Resort

Horn Hill Waste Transfer Station

Kugluktuk Water Systems Upgrade
Market: WaterThe Hamlet of Kugluktuk draws its water from the Coppermine River about 2.5 km upstream from the Coronation Gulf. Numerous issues have been reported with the water system over the years including chronic excessive turbidity, seasonal salt water intrusion, sand and silt build-up around the intake pipe, the need for a new intake pump house (instability of the riverbank lead to damage of the intake pump house and pipe), and sufficient water storage. Many of these issues are interrelated (i.e., intake sedimentation affecting water quality).

McLevin Welding
