» Project Details

Located on 70 acres in Hecla Provincial Park, Manitoba, the Hecla Oasis Resort is a one of a kind adventure destination and a jewel of Manitoba’s growing holiday and recreation industry. With a construction budget of $15 million plus, the resort includes a variety of accommodations including a family water park, adult full service spa with mineral pools, a health and wellness centre, and Manitoba’s highest rated public golf course, as well as breathtaking views of Lake Winnipeg.

Williams' mechanical and electrical staff were instrumental in renovating the former Gull Harbour site to create this new superior five star resort. Mechanical designs included a propane fired boiler, hydronic heat, heat recovery ventilators to recover heat from the central exhaust system, a new deep well for water supply, new diesel powered fire pump, centralized recirculated hot water systems, commercial laundry ventilation systems, make-up HVAC for two restaurants, and a central mechanical room containing pumping and HVAC equipment for the multi-pool water park.

Electrical designs include an entirely new lighting system containing high performance fixtures with accent LED lighting for the stream and rock garden, as well as decorative LED accent lighting for handcrafted artisan sculptures. Also included was a new voice/data system complete with central server, a comprehensive lightning protection system, a new diesel standby generator and emergency power system, and new electrical service including utility transformer, motor control system, and distribution system. A new fire alarm and public address system was also added, in addition to connections to two commercial kitchens and the commercial laundry facility.

A complete renovation project of this scale requires significant engineering design input and our firm is pleased to have been a part of its development. Our firm has a long history of providing reliable, innovative, and cost-effective engineering solutions to the hospitality industry in Western and Northern Canada.
