In conjunction with the Sirri Island project, the petroleum processing plant installation completed at Shanul, Iran, was undertaken for Thermo Design Engineering Ltd.
Structural services were provided for the infrastructure control and power buildings, tower support bases, and burn pits, all of which had to be blast proof to safeguard against accidents. The project presented a series of engineering and project management challenges. Western building methods and materials had to be adapted to work in an extreme environment that includes dust and high temperatures year round. Our staff met and surpassed these challenges quickly and efficiently in spite of the distance between Edmonton and Iran.
